Every Moonwatch ever made has been a black-and-white watch. Black dial, white printing, steel case, and that is the whole palette. It is why the Speedmaster is famously easy to strap and famously hard to strap interestingly — nothing on the dial gives you a lead.
The 310.30.42.50.04.001 is the exception, and that changes the entire conversation. There is a colour on this dial. Once you know where to look, the strap choice almost makes itself.
The fit: 20mm, and nothing to select
Your white-dial Moonwatch is the standard 42mm asymmetrical Speedmaster case with a 20mm lug width. Same as every other Moonwatch Professional, so if you already own a black-dial Speedy, your straps swap straight across.
Every strap in our Speedmaster collection is cut to 20mm and there is no width dropdown to get wrong. You choose buckle colour, and on this reference silver is the one — a black buckle competes with the bezel, and gold fights the whole watch.

Same guidance if you bought it on a strap. The leather version (310.32.42.50.04.001) and the rubber version (310.32.42.50.04.002) are the same case and the same 20mm. If anything you are the more likely buyer here, because you already know you prefer this watch off a bracelet.
What makes this reference different
Omega unveiled the white lacquered dial Moonwatch in March 2024, and unusually for a white-dial Speedmaster, it went into the permanent collection rather than a limited run. It had already been spotted months earlier on Daniel Craig's wrist, which is why some dealers still list it as the "Daniel Craig Speedmaster."
The case is the familiar 42mm asymmetrical lyre-lug shape at around 13.2mm thick, with a black anodised aluminium tachymeter bezel carrying the dot over 90. Inside is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861, METAS certified and unbothered by magnetic fields above 15,000 gauss, with a 50-hour reserve and 50 metres of water resistance. Unlike the Hesalite Moonwatch, this one has sapphire front and back — you can see the movement through the caseback.
The dial is the reason you bought it. Glossy white lacquer, stepped, with applied black indexes, an applied black Omega logo and blackened hands, and three recessed sub-counters with sharply cut edges.
And then, at 12 o'clock, "Speedmaster" printed in red.
That single line of red is the only colour anywhere on the watch, and it is not decoration — it is a nod to the Alaska Project, the late-1960s NASA prototypes that paired a white dial with red elements for legibility in space. Omega put it there deliberately, and it is the detail every reviewer picks out.
One thing about lacquer that matters for strap choice
Worth knowing before you buy anything. The black Moonwatch dial is matte and slightly granular. This one is polished lacquer with a glassy surface, and glossy dials pick up what is around them. At an angle, the colour of your strap reflects faintly into the dial.
On a matte black dial that effect does not exist. On this one it does, which means strap colour has more visual consequence on the 310.30.42.50.04.001 than on any other Moonwatch. It also makes the white surface read larger and brighter than the black dial does in the same case.
Practical version: pick a strap you would be happy seeing a hint of in the dial.
Four that work, running from restrained to loud.
1. Black with a red line — finish the design
This is the pick, and it is specific to this reference. A black strap with one clean red line running through it does two things at once: the black body continues the black bezel and the black markers straight down the wrist, and the red line answers the red signature at 12.

2. Black — the tuxedo
Straight black rubber, no line, no argument. The bezel is black, the indexes are black, the hands are black. Adding a black strap closes the frame and leaves the white dial sitting in the middle of it like a plate.

3. White — all in
Bold, and better in person than it sounds. A white strap on a white lacquer dial turns the whole watch into one bright object with the black bezel as the only dark ring in it. The case looks bigger, the dial looks brighter, and it photographs better than anything else on this list.

4. Red — commit properly
The full version of what the first pick hints at. Red rubber against a white dial with red text is the Alaska Project palette taken to its conclusion, and on a watch this classic it is a genuinely surprising look — sporty, a bit motorsport, and completely unlike a black-dial Speedy on anything.

Keep the bracelet in the box
The five-link bracelet on this generation is genuinely good, with polished centre links and on-the-fly adjustment in the clasp. It is also the part that scratches first, and polished centre links show every mark.
