The Master Collection is the quiet counterweight to everything else Longines makes. Launched in 2005, it's the line where the brand does classical watchmaking properly: barleycorn dials, blued hands, moon phases and retrogrades, all in cases slim enough to disappear under a cuff. It's the dress watch a lot of people buy first and keep longest.
Which makes the strap more important here than on any diver. There's no bezel and no bracelet doing the talking — the strap is roughly half of what you see.
Which Strap Size Fits Your Master Collection?
The Master Collection spans a wide range of case sizes, and the widths follow the case rather than the model name:

The thing to know: the 40 mm and 42 mm — the two most-bought sizes in the line — take 21 mm, not 20 mm. Dealer specifications for the 40 mm L2.793 list the strap inlet at 21 mm, and per-reference listings put both the 40 and the 42 at the same width. If you assumed the round number, you'd order too narrow and end up with a visible gap at each lug.
It's the same story as the HydroConquest, and it's worth saying plainly: Longines is a 21 mm brand across both of its core lines, and 21 mm is precisely the width most strap makers don't cut. Ours is available in 21 mm alongside 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20 and 22 mm.

The Master Collection is a dress watch, so the rules are simple and the safe route is the right route: pick up a colour already on the watch, keep the finish clean, and let the dial do the work. All three of these are real leather, 105 mm + 70 mm, and compatible with your original Longines buckle.
1. Brown Leather – The Factory Pairing
Longines delivers most Master Collection references on a brown alligator strap, and there's a reason it's the default: brown is the natural partner to the silver barleycorn and ivory opaline dials that define the line. 2. Black Leather – The Formal Default
For black-dial references, and for anyone who wants the watch strictly formal, a black leather strap is the answer. It's the most versatile of the three, disappears against a dark suit, and makes even a busy moon-phase dial read as restrained. One of the most popular choices among Master Collection owners.
3. Blue Leather – For the Sunray Blue Dials
The sunray blue dial is the most photographed watch in the range, and a blue leather strap keeps it tonal — the whole watch reads as one deliberate design instead of a blue dial sitting on an unrelated brown band. It's also the most modern of the three without ever tipping into loud.

Keep Your Original Buckle
Every Master Collection strap is compatible with your original Longines buckle, so the clasp you already own carries straight over. That matters more on a dress watch than on a diver: the buckle is visible when you take the watch off, and matching hardware is what makes an aftermarket strap look like it came with the watch.
