Every week, someone walks into a jewelry store wearing a Submariner or a Speedmaster and asks the same question: "Do you have a rubber strap that fits this?" In most stores, the honest answer is no — and that customer goes home, opens Google, and buys the strap online instead.
That's a sale walking out of your door. Worse, it's a service moment walking out of your door, because the same customer would have happily paid you to fit the strap on the spot.
The Helvetus Retail Partner Program exists to fix exactly that. This article explains who we are, how the wholesale program works, what margins and support you can expect, and how to apply — whether your store is in Texas, Tokyo, or anywhere in between. We accept retail partners worldwide.
Why watch straps belong in your display case
Here's the thing most jewelers already know but rarely act on: a collector buys a watch every few years, but buys straps far more often. A strap is the cheapest way to make a watch feel new again. Summer calls for rubber, winter calls for leather, and a well-made sailcloth strap changes the character of a sports watch entirely.
For a retailer, that means three revenue streams from a single product category. You earn the margin on the strap itself. You charge a fitting fee for the few minutes it takes at the bench. And you gain a closing tool for watch sales — "the strap is on us if you take the watch today" is one of the cheapest deal-closers in the business, especially on pre-owned pieces where buyers often want rubber to keep the factory bracelet unworn.
Straps also bring people through the door who weren't planning to visit. Every one of them owns a luxury watch. Once they're inside, they see your cases, your repair bench, your jewelry. That's not a strap customer — that's a future watch customer who found you because of a strap.
Who is Helvetus?
Helvetus is one of the largest independent watch strap brands in the world, with more than 50,000 customers across the globe and features in publications like aBlogtoWatch, Time+Tide, WatchPro and WorldTempus.
What sets our straps apart is fit. Every Helvetus strap is engineered for a specific watch model — curved ends matched to the case profile, exact lug widths, and proper hardware — so the strap integrates like it left the factory that way. We cover Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Tudor, Breitling, IWC, Panerai, Hublot and more than 25 luxury brands in total, in the widest fitment and color range of any strap brand.
The collection spans premium FKM rubber (covered by a lifetime warranty), calf leather, exotic leathers like alligator and ostrich, and sailcloth. Every strap ships in retail-ready packaging, and every rubber strap we ever sell is guaranteed for life. That warranty matters at the counter: your staff can hand a customer a strap and say "if this ever fails, it's replaced" — and mean it.
How the Retail Partner Program works
The program is deliberately simple, because we've seen how complicated some wholesale arrangements get.
Your margin. Retail partners buy at wholesale prices that leave genuine room to earn — the exact structure is in the retailer price list we send on request. You set your own in-store pricing — sell at our price, above it, bundle it with a service; that's your call. Fitting fees are yours on top.
Your risk. You choose exactly which models and colors you stock, and you restock on your own schedule. The commercial terms are built to keep a new partner's risk low — the full details come with the program presentation.
Your territory. We appoint one retail partner per area. When you carry Helvetus, your local competitors don't.
Your toolkit. Retail packaging and counter display materials are included, so the straps look the part next to the watches in your case from day one.
We send customers to you
This is the part of the program partners tend to underestimate. Helvetus.com attracts a large audience of luxury watch owners every month, and a meaningful share of them would rather try a strap on their watch in person than order online. Retail partners are listed on our retailer page, and enquiries from your region get forwarded directly to your store.
On top of that, we reshare partner content to our Instagram audience of watch enthusiasts. When you post a Daytona on one of our rubber straps, fitted at your bench, that reaches collectors in your area — with your store's name attached.
In other words: you're not just buying inventory at wholesale. You're plugging into an existing stream of luxury watch owners who are already looking for what you now stock.
Who can apply?
The program is open worldwide. Our current partners range from century-old family jewelers to pre-owned watch specialists and modern watch boutiques, and we're actively adding retailers across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
If your store fits one of these profiles, you're exactly who we're looking for: independent jewelers with a service bench, authorized or pre-owned watch dealers, watch repair specialists with retail space, or luxury boutiques with a watch clientele. You don't need to be a huge operation — you need customers who own good watches.
How to become a Helvetus retailer
The process takes days, not months.
First, reach out through the form on our Become a Retailer page or email us directly. Tell us about your store — location, the watch brands your customers wear, whether you have a bench on site.
Second, we send you the full Retail Partner Program presentation, the retailer price list, and up to two free samples in models of your choice, so you can judge the quality with your own hands before spending anything.
Third, you place your opening order in the exact models and colors that match your clientele. Packaging and display materials ship with it.
Fourth, you go live: your store gets added to our retailer page, local enquiries start routing to you, and you're selling straps that fit your customers' watches perfectly.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum order? Order terms are deliberately retailer-friendly. Request the retailer price list and program presentation for the full commercial details.
Do you accept retailers outside the US? Yes. The program is global, and we ship worldwide. Wherever your store is, we want to hear from you.
Are these original manufacturer straps? No — Helvetus is an independent brand. Our straps are aftermarket products engineered to be compatible with specific luxury watch models. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any watch manufacturer.
Can I see the quality before committing? That's exactly what the free samples are for. Pick one or two models from the price list and judge them yourself.
Start the conversation
If you've read this far, you already know whether your customers ask about straps. The only question left is whether they buy them from you or from the internet.
Apply through our Become a Retailer page, and we'll send the presentation, the price list, and your free samples. One retailer per area — if your city is still open, it won't be forever.
